A Fujian celadon bowl. Yuan period (1279-1368)

A flat Fujian celadon bowl with incised lotus decoration to the interior, all below a pale translucent olive-green glaze. Base unglazed revealing grey stoneware body. Yuan dynasty (1279-1368).
Diameter 27.5 cm

Provenance

Wolfgang Nolting, Southern Germany (purchased from R & G McPherson Antiques, London, 06.02.2003, at the gallery exhibition with 200 pieces from a shipwreck. The ship could be dated to the Yuan period and contained mainly celadon and Qingbai ceramics which were manufactured for the Southeast Asian market.)
