An ivory kiseruzutsu of muso-zutsu type, carved with an European leather design displaying winged putti amidst exotic flowers, foliage and fruits. Sealed Kyô. Late 19th century.
Length 22.2 cm

The design is taken from an illustration of European leather designs illustrated in volume 6 of the woodblock-printed book "Sôken kishô" by Inaba Tsuryû, first published in Osaka 1781.
