An archaic bronze ritual food vessel (ding), the rounded body supported on three columnar legs, the rim set with a pair of loop handles, beneath the rim a narrow frieze with running dragons intercepted by domed whorled medallions. Patchy gray-green patina with encrustations inside. Late Shang/Early Western Zhou dynasty, 12th/11th century.
