A wood netsuke of two rats on a takara bukuro. Early 19th century

A rat sits on a treasure bundle, the takaramono, tied together by a tasselled rope while another rat crawls through two openings and gnaws at the tail of the other rat. The eyes of brown horn.
Height 3.5 cm; length 4.3 cm
