An Edo school ivory netsuke of the twelve animals of the zodiac, by Ryômin. Mid 19th century

Arranged in a circle are a seated tiger, a monkey riding a horse, a puppy, a goat with a rat on its head, a reclining ox with chicken on top, and two hares, the larger of them sitting on the boar’s head. The group is surmounted by a dragon with a rat on its back. The mouths of the dragon and the tiger painted red. Signed with the kaô of Ono Ryômin.
