An unusual partly stained walrus tusk ryûsa manjû of takaramono and New Year’s decorations. Late 19th century

Carved to one side with Daikoku’s mallet with a rat on top, a shimekazari with ferns and noshi and a ceremonial sake bottle; on the reverse a very large rat, a fan and a half-open scroll; shippô tsunagi along the sides. The eye of the large rat of coral.
