An ivory manjû of two karako playing with a hat, by Hikaku. Second half 19th century

Both wearing fancy garments, one boy sitting on top of a large wickerwork kakure-gasa, the hat of invisibility, another karako, who is sticking out his tongue, is caught underneath, in the same manner in which Shôki catches an oni. Signed Hikaku in an oval reserve.
Height 2.5 cm; length 4.1 cm
