A fine ivory okimono-type netsuke of a muscular oni polishing a cauldron, by Tomonobu. Late 19th century

Standing bent over a large cauldron, to be used for boiling the sinners in hell, and polishing its wall with a baren, his tiger skin apron with fine line engravings. The eye pupils of black glass. No himotôshi. Signed Tomonobu horu.
