Literature

Cf. Lobanov-Rostovsky, Revolutionskeramik 1917-1927, London/Basel 1990, no. 9, an example dated 1921 with a reversed depiction of the motif. The author describes the motif as a depiction of a sentry guarding grain during the great famine of 1921.
