portrait of the warrior Menelaus based on a piece in the Vatican Museum. Frame set with four brilliant-cut diamonds in total ca. 0.8 ct. Stamped: Fineness 750, maker's mark "HJ". Cameo has been restored. H 3.9 cm. Total H 5.9 cm. Weight 40.2 g.
Italy, probably 17th C., gold enamel setting by H. Jaufmann, Augsburg 1970s.
