A South German ivory figure of a standing saint, circa 1700.

Carved in the round. With minor remains of former polychromy. A figure of a male saint designed for a frontal viewpoint, standing in contrapposto, leaning sideways and holding his fluttering cloak drawn across his body. The reverse carved in slightly less detail.
The right arm, formerly attached via a dowel, now lost. Yellowed and worn. Mounted to a modern wooden socle. Height 14 cm (without socle).
