An elaborate six piece tea and coffee set. Around 1900

An elaborate six piece tea and coffee set consisting of tea and coffee pot, a milk jug, a lidded sugar pot with tongs, and a small tray, all decorated in repoussé with a running dragon, the handles in shape of a detailed dragon. The monogram reads M. T. (= Minna Trautmann). Marked Jiujiang and Tu mao xing. Total weight 2987 g. Around 1900. (6)

Provenance

Wilhelm Trautmann (1868-1949). He worked for the German haberdasher Wilk & Mielenhausen in Shanghai from 1896 onwards, until he became owner of the firm in 1903. In 1949 his assets were confiscated and he was expelled from China.
