An interesting ivory netsuke of a mokugyo, by Kokusai. Mid-19th century

The top half of a broken and worm-eaten mokugyo with handles in shape of dragons holding a tama with their mouths, the body carved with a stylized lotus and a simulated crack repaired with a dovetail joint, the reverse with a lotus leaf and a bud. Signed Kokusai in a raised oval reserve. In addition an ivory netsuke of a mokugyo with dragon-shaped handles. (2)
