A rare Attendorn partially gilt silver tankard

A rare Attendorn partially gilt silver tankard. The lid engraved with a monogram. Master with house mark, ca. 1670. H 16.5 cm, weight 626 g.

Scheffler only tentatively ascribes this assay mark to the town of Attendorn in Westphalia, referring to a communion chalice donated in 1670 bearing the same maker's mark. The mark of the present tankard bears a slightly stronger resemblance to the Attendorn coat of arms.
