A pair of Dresden silver rococo style candlesticks. Together with two unmarked, associated six-flame fixtures. Marks of Moritz Elimeyer, ca. 1900. H 51 cm, weight 5920 g.

Moritz Elimeyer was "jeweller to his majesty the King of England" as of 1747, and royal court supplier and jeweller of Saxony as of 1856. This pair of candelabra were fashioned after rococo era designs by Christian Heinrich Ingermanns for the so-called "familiensilber" of Frederick August II (cf. Arnold, Dresdner Hofsilber des 18. Jahrhunderts, Berlin/Dresden 1994, p. 19, illus. 9).
