An 18th century Italian marble bust of Bacchus

Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse hollowed out. Minimal remains of former partial polychromy. A finely carved depiction of Bacchus wearing a grapevine crown and a lion's pelt wrapped around his upper body, with the head and paw of the lion draped over his right shoulder.
Minimal wear. Mounted on a contemporary moulded marble base. Height 60 cm (without base).
