"The Barber"

With a dedication in ink to the lower left: "Sasha! When you shave? .. Then I recommend the royal barber (signature?) 8/II 30". With a study of the back of a woman's head to the reverse in Indian ink, gouache and watercolour, inscribed below in Latin lettering "Paris 1926". Gouache and silver paint over pencil on slightly yellowed drawing paper. 29.7 x 20.7 cm. Illegibly inscribed and dated 1926 in Cyrillic in pencil centre right. - With a reattached torn area to the upper left and a horizontal tear further down. Remains of former mounting on brown card to the upper half on verso.
