A Leipzig silver calendar

Designed as a cartouche-form plaque with six finely painted enamel depictions of scenes from the passion. The centre containing a capsule in which one of 12 gouaches with depictions of the months can be inserted. Above this an aperture for the date and two vacant reserves, presumably for the day of the week and the year. Mounted on a velvet-covered wooden base. A minute loss to the surmounting element, a chip to the lower right of the scene of Christ at the column. H 28; W 18.5 cm.
