Untitled (Dancers in 'Pressa' costumes)
1928

Vintage gelatin silver print. 9.5 x 13.2 cm. Photographer's stamp and annotated by the former owner Clara Kley in ink on the verso.

Various advertising events took place prior to the opening of the first international press exhibition “Pressa”, which took place in the new trade fair venue on the banks of the Rhine in Cologne on 12th May and drew over 5 million visitors to the city. The events included a performance by dancers in “Pressa” costumes as part of a carnival party. One of the dancers was Clara Kley, the previous owner of this image and later editor in chief of the Catholic Sunday newspaper “Der Feuerreiter”.
