A small Ko-Kutani dish. Late 17th century

A small square Ko-Kutani dish with indented corners, painted to the inside with a bird perched on a rock in iron-red and enamels, to the rim with yellow leafy scrolls, on the reverse with flowers and scrolls in underglaze-blue, saw-tooth border to the foot and Fuku mark in a double square to the base. Various restored chips. Late 17th century. Wooden box, inscribed to the lid Ko-Kutani kaku-sara.
