The shishi sits on a flat oval base, the left paw placed on a ball of bright red coral, the wide mouth with sharp teeth and a visible tongue barely open, the long hairs of the tail arranged in decorative swirls. The eye pupils of black horn. Inscribed Hidari Issan on a brown inlaid tablet.
