A Sulawesi Bugis keris. 19th century

A Sulawesi Bugis keris with a steel blade, the hilt of ivory in shape of an abstract Garuda, carved all over with flower sprays, selut and mendak of granulated gold, the scabbard of wood lined with gilt metal (pendok bunton) with scrolls and flowers in repoussé, the wrongka of nicely grained wood of gayaman type. 19th century.
