An Augsburg Régence silver hot chocolate pot

Interior gilt, the handle of wood. Decorated with depictions of Nereids in medallions and a small coat-of-arms to the display side. H 27.5 cm, weight 890 g.
Marks of Esaias III Busch, ca. 1730.

Esaias III Busch's designs stood out among the other makers of his time. His coffee and tea pots, kettles and rechauds were ordered by and presented to all the courts of Europe. Today, his works can be found in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum, the Landesmuseum Württemberg, the Hermitage in St Petersburg, and the Swedish National Museum in Stockholm.
