Pill box with a portrait miniature of Frederick II

Embossed and engraved copper, tortoiseshell with gold piqué, gouache on ivory miniature under glass. Of rounded bombé form, the lid with radial relief and piqué decor, the inside with a portrait of Frederick II in a tricorn with the Star of the Order of the Black Eagle. Minimal losses to the piqué. H 2.4, D 4.9 cm.
Germany / possibly Berlin, 2nd quarter / mid-18th C.
