Literature

The archival tables published by Lenz (vol. 1, reprint, p. 15 f) list two entries for the Berlin service. The first being an order placed on 31.1. and 3.2.1768 for a “Berlin dinner service of etched design, for 36 persons” (Acta Silberkammer vol. I, 3.2.1768). The second entry is a dispatch on 23.3.1773: “Dinner service of etched design (72 dinner plates etc.) painted with naturalistic flowers and insects and with a gilt leaf border”. The phrase “of etched design” (“radirtes Dessein”) probably refers to a design by Frederick II himself.
A dessert plate from the service in cat.: Berliner Porzellan, Münster 2006, no. 60, a dinner plate under no. 78.
