A Passau silver gilt communion chalice

A six-lobed base with a finely chased pear form nodus, the conical cuppa with slightly flared rim. The base engraved with the arms of alliance of the Barons von Closen zu Haydenburg and the Counts von Toerrings zu Stein, monogrammed G.E.F.V.C.Z.H. and C.M.G.V.T.Z.S., dated 1637. H 23 cm, weight 490 g.
Unidentified maker's mark "DG", ca. 1630.

Baron Georg Ehrenreich v. Closen zu Haydenburg (1601 - 47) married Catharina Maria Gräfin v. Törring zu Stein (1604-1641) in 1625.
