A silver candlestick from the Dresden court silver collection

Round moulded foot, baluster-form shaft and cylindrical nozzle. Engraved monogram "FA", inventory no. 100 and weight information "! Mr: 1 lt. 2qs. 1d" to the underside. H 14.5 cm, weight 254 g.

This candlestick belongs to a series of six silver services which O'Byrn recorded as belonging to the inventory of the Dresden court silver collection in 1880. On page 148 of his notes, he mentions "124 smooth facetted table candlesticks, inscribed (FA), monogrammed "C.D.S." A set of 12 is still kept in the collection of the Grünes Gewölbe in Dresden.
