A Mechelen alabaster relief of Christ falling under the cross, circa 1600

With remains of presumably original gilding. High-relief passion scene showing Christ collapsed under the weight of the cross and Saint Veronica kneeling beside him, offering him her veil. The gates of Jerusalem can be seen in the background.
Two vertical hairline cracks in the lower edge. In an ornamental wooden frame, presumably of the period. 12.8 x 10 cm (without frame) 23 x 20 cm (with frame).
