"Fine wind, clear weather" is among the most loved images from Hokusai's Fuji series. In late summer, early autumn, the mountain is said to have a reddish hue. In this version, the white clouds stand in stark contrast to a rather dark blue sky. The slopes of Mount Fuji gently shift from a stronger brown to a pale pink to a soft green. The Museum of Fine Art, Boston, holds a very similar copy with the same colour scheme and same block damages under accession no. 53.495.
