A carved ivory tankard with sea gods

Slightly tapering cylindrical corpus carved with a continuous scene of figures amid waves. The domed lid with a sitting putto finial. The rim and edge of the lid bordered with scrolls, mascarons, and fruit. The angular S-shaped handles with a faun mascaron, scale pattern, and an acanthus thumbrest. Several cracks and restorations, remnants of glue, the ivory screw connecting the thumbrest replaced in metal. H 29 cm.
Attributed to the Netherlands or Southern Germany, late 17th / 19th C.
