A five-case inrô. 19th century

Displaying on one side a carp jumping up a waterfall, on the other side two carps swimming in waves in gold tamaki-e and hiramaki-e the clouds embelished by kirikane, all on a kindi ground. To the inside nashiji and fundame. Signed Hôsensai in maki-e and kaô in red lacquer. Ivory ojime in shape of pearl. Ivory manjû of oval shape with a gilt rat sitting on a shiozake of shibuichi.
