Signed in the base in kinji: Sakai Kyozan
With separate cord runners- Roiro ground, shiny, red lacquer with fundame to the inside. In takabori, three tsuba laid partly on each other, one curved around the edge of the inro. All tsuba in lacquer simulating the metals copper, shakudo and oxidated silver. a) Of rounded, square shape with four medallions: gold, spiral; shakudo and mother-of-pear, four tomoe; red lacquer, tomoe; green ceramic, flowers. b) Mokkogata, dragon in waves. c) Oval, butterfly and various shells. Fundame and red lacquer to the inside. Ojime of light red, green-veined stone. The right one of the middle panel shows the three left kanji, identical with our signature.
