A Vienna porcelain cup and cover with a pair of storks

Of cylindrical form with angular handle, original pinecone finial lid and saucer. The display side of the cup painted with an allegorical depiction of two storks in flight, inscribed to the lower section "la Reconnaißance". The reverse of the cup and the saucer with arabesques on gold ground. Blue "bindenschild" mark, year stamps 800 and 803, dreher's number 39. A rim chip to the saucer.
Vienna, Imperial porcelain manufactory under Konrad von Sorgenthal, fired 1800 and 1803, decorated soon after.
