A rare Gothic two-handled mortar

Cast bronze with slightly mottled dark brown patina. Thin-walled vessel of narrow conical form with slightly tapering disc shaped base. Six ribs surround the lower section, and three horizontal mouldings the upper and lower borders. Two slightly staggered facetted rectangular handles. Foundry mark to the upper handle. Small chips and dents to the base and rim. H 23, D 19 cm. Weight 9,0 kg.
