South German late 15th century

A South German carved wood relief of Saint Catherine, late 15th century

With partially overpainted older polychromy. Pierced high relief depicting the crowned Saint standing with a book in her left hand and her attribute the sword in her right.
Three covered holes beside her waist and to the left of the sword. The lower edge, lower right corner and left shoulder replaced. Wear throughout. 82 x 30 x 4 cm.
