A small white marble stele fragment of a Bodhisattva. Northern Qi dynasty, ca. 560

The head and torso of the Bodhisattva are a fragment from a stele carved in relief against a flat background. In the right hand the figure holds an attribute, possibly a lotus bud, while the robe with folds elegantly drapes around the body. Behind the head a plain nimbus. Wooden stand.
