An ivory netsuke of a monkey with a mask and a drum. Late 19th century

Bent over a drum as he looks up in disbelief, carrying a big Okame mask attached to a bamboo branch which he carries over his shoulder. Both the monkey's and the mask's pupils as well as the nails of the drum inlaid in dark horn. Signed Masatami in a rectangular reserve.
