A pair of George IV silver dishes made for Princess Viktoria von Preußen

Deep scalloped and fluted dishes with gadrooned rims. The domed lids with corresponding decor and removable handles. Dishes and lids monogrammed "V" beneath the Prussian royal crown, the rims with engraved inventory numbers 3 and 4. Diameter ca. 29; H 14 cm, total weight 4,027 g.
London, marks of Paul Storr, 1821

Among other things, Paul Storr was also court goldsmith to George III and George IV of England. These items must have found their way to the Prussian court via Princess Victoria's godmother, Queen Victoria of England, either directly or by way of her mother, the later "Empress Friedrich", who was also named Victoria.
