The Friedländer firm was already appointed court jewellers to the Prussian royal household under Wilhelm I, and were responsible for parts of the so-called wedding service created on occasion of Wilhelm II's marriage to Auguste Viktoria von Schleswig-Holstein in 1881, presented to the couple as a gift by 96 Prussian cities.
