A large Riga silver tureen

Silver; gold-plated inside. A large fluted oval tureen with gilt interior on four scroll supports. The handles with finely chased mascarons. Engraved with the coat of arms of the Sienese Bargagli family and their motto SEMPER SUAVES. The domed lid with a vase-shaped finial. Marks: Devious BZ Riga with year letter E for 1768 - 80, MZ Johann Joachim Krusemann (1778 - 1804, Leistikow p. 305, 322). H 34.5; W 33; D 21 cm, weight 2,432 g.
