The print once belonged to the collection of Heinrich Koch, who studied photography with Hans Finsler at the Burg Giebichenstein School of Arts and Crafts in Halle. Here Koch, who had probably already been involved in photography during his studies at the Staatliches Bauhaus in Dessau, quickly took up the position of Finsler's assistant, and in 1932 he became his successor as head of the photography class.
