A fine ivory netsuke of a Karyobinga. Early 19th century

Shown flying, her finely carved wings and birdlike legs drawn in for compactness holding a chrysanthemum flower with both hands, her head with the elaborated coiffure slightly turned to the right, the eye pupils inlaid in dark horn. Inscribed Okatomo.
