A wood netsuke of a skeleton with a bell. First half 19th century

Seated behind a large mokugyo on a brocade cushion, the handle and top decorated with a dramatic cloud pattern. Dark, finely grained wood, very finely carved, engraved and polished. Signed Tomonobu in a reserve.
