An Asakusa-type stag horn netsuke of the head of a kappa. 19th century

Carved from a stag horn rose with clever use of the hairline, the fork of the stag horn separating the base of the neck from the pointed beak. The eyes inlaid with amber with dark pupils.
Height 4 cm
