A London bracket clock

Mahogany veneer on oak, glazing, engraved silver-plated dial with large black Latin numerals and small Arabic numerals, pierced blued steel hands, date aperture. The arc containing an on/off switch for the striking, repetition to one side. Week-running movement with quarter hourly musical striking on eight gongs and hourly striking on a large gong. Signed on the dial "Eardleu Norton London". H 59, W 31, D 19 cm.
Eardley Norton, St. John St., master in 1762.
