A small Strasbourg faience tureen with purple bouquets "au gabarit"

Tureen with handles modelled as a rose and a bindweed tendril, a further rose forming the finial. Finely painted with flowers and bouquets based on contemporary porcelain designs. The rim with a gilt "houndstooth" border after Meissen. Unmarked. Small chips and losses to the leaves and twigs. H 11, W c. 14.5 cm.
Marks of Paul Hannong, 1745 - 54.
