A salt glazed stoneware platter by Fernand Rumèbe

Round platter with cobalt blue, green, and metallic glaze. The pierced base with two firing cracks. Black painted signature "F.RUMÈBE", incised 115. D 35.3 cm.
Fernand Rumèbe (1875 - 1952), c. 1920.

Fernand Rumèbe (1875 - 1952) took over the studio of Emile Decoeur in 1907. He travelled to Turkey and Indochina and brought back numerous inspirations for his ceramic works. In his later life he concentrated on his architectural projects.
