Steingutfabrik Velten Vordamm, 1925/26, modelled and produced by Theodor Bogler.

Before beginning his life as a Benedictine monk in the Abbey of Maria Laach, Theodor Bogler (Hofgeismar 1897 - 1968 Maria Laach) took a preliminary course at the State Bauhaus in Weimar under Johannes Itten as well as additional seminars with Lyonel Feininger. In the mid-1920s, he was employed by Dr. Hermann Harkort at the Velten-Vordamm stoneware manufactory. A large fire in the factory caused significant damage and led to a restructuring process when production was resumed in 1923. The talented Bauhaus pupil Theodor Bogler was placed in charge of the production of ambitious, one-off works. However, following the death of his wife in 1925, Bogler decided to dedicate himself entirely to a spiritual life. He enterered the monastery in 1927, where he continued to run a ceramics studio.
