He describes it as a characteristic work by this artist from the early 1840s, comparable to the painting listed under cat. no. 9, fig. 26 in the catalogue raisonné, also dated to 1842 (M. Heteren und J. Meere: Frederik Marinus Kruseman (1816-1882). Painter of pleasing landscapes, 1998).
