A very large embroidered beige and dark blue satin pictorial hanging. Daoguang period, dated 1839

The main register displaying a pair of phoenixes, other birds, butterflies, various flowering branches, and an inscription titled “Wulun tu” (Picture of the Five Relations) in flat stitches against a beige-coloured background, above three large shou medallions in couched gold threads. At the sides inscription in large gold-leaf characters dated Daoguang jihai (1839), written by Liu Zhaoqing. The upper border displaying the Star Gods Fu, Lu and Shou at the centre, flanked by Xiwangmu (left) und Dongfang Shuo (right), below the Hehe Erxian and a dignitary, most probably Guo Ziyi. At the outer borders to the left and right the Eight Immortals: Lu Dongbin with a sword, Han Xiangzi with a flute, Li Tieguai, He Xiangu to the left, and Zhongli Quan, Lan Caihe, Zhang Guolao and Cao Guoji with castanets to the right. The scene of the main register refers to the Five Relationships (wulun), represented by five types of birds. The pair of phoenixes dominating the scene stand for ruler and subject or rightness and loyality, the crane stands father and son or affection and filial piety, the crows stands for friend and friend or trust and honesty, the swallow stands for elder and younger brother or precedence and affection and lastly the mandarin ducks stand for husband and wife or differentiation and harmony

The honorific inscription bordering the main register includes the dates of Daoguang jihai (1839), written respectfully by Zhaoqing and sealed Yunwi und Liu Zhaoqin yin.

來源:中國1902年給曾 Anton 及 Antoinette Goebel 的結婚禮物,後由其家族繼承,德國萊茵蘭法耳次州

壁毯中間描繪了一對棲在磐石間的鬆樹上的鳳凰,並綴以梅花枝、禽鳥和蝴蝶,上題“五倫圖“。中心圖上面是三枚金壽字紋。兩側有金箔字樣“道光已亥(1839年)”,為劉兆慶所書。
最上方為福祿壽三星、西王母和東方朔(右),下方為和合二仙。兩側是八仙,分別為帶寶劍的呂洞賓(左),帶笛子的韓湘子,李鐵拐,何仙姑和鐘離權(右),藍採和,張果老和帶笏板的曹國舅。
底部繪制了一隻蒼鹿,一對仙鶴和一隻盤旋在鬆樹和梧桐樹間的蝙蝠,象征長壽和吉祥。

該圖呈現的是儒家用五種禽鳥代表的“五種社會/人倫關系”(五倫)。
鳳凰代表統治者和人民之間的關系“忠”,即正直和忠誠。
鶴代表父子之間的關系“孝”,即感情和孝順。
黃鶯代表朋友和朋友之間的關系“善”,即信任和誠實。
鹡鸰代表哥哥和弟弟之間的關系“悌“,即謙讓和感情。
鴛鴦代表夫妻之間的關系“忍“,即相敬與和諧。
兩側題詞為兆慶所作1839年新年賀詞,以及兩個印章:雲五和劉兆慶印。
